Chains are a volume category, which means they are a trust category. Retailers reorder chains monthly, so the supplier who never sends back a weak clasp keeps the account for years. That has been our approach since 1999. WHAT THIS CATEGORY COVERS Everyday chains from 4 to 12 grams in cable, rope, box and singapore links. Men's chains from 15 to 60 grams in curb, Figaro, byzantine and broad hollow links. Traditional South Indian chains — karimani black-bead chains for mangalsutras, thali chains and thick kodi chains. SOLID AND HOLLOW CONSTRUCTION Solid links give weight and durability. Hollow and semi-hollow links give visual presence at a much lower gram cost, which is how a retailer offers a broad-looking men's chain at an accessible price. We declare construction on the invoice every time, because a customer who discovers hollow construction later blames your showroom, not ours. MANUFACTURING AND TESTING Wire is drawn to gauge and links are formed, then either machine-linked or hand-woven depending on the pattern — byzantine and handmade patterns are built entirely by hand. Every joint is soldered and inspected under magnification. Each finished chain is pull-tested along its full length, and clasps, spring rings and lobster catches are cycled repeatedly before approval. Bails on pendant-ready chains are reinforced. HALLMARKING AND WEIGHT ACCURACY 22K chains carry the BIS 916 hallmark, 18K chains carry 750, with HUID applied before dispatch. Weight is verified after finishing and again at packing, and printed on the invoice. Length is measured with the clasp closed, the way your customer will wear it. BUYING INFORMATION FOR RETAILERS Minimum order is 100 grams with mixed lengths and link types allowed. Making charges are quoted per gram by link type; hand-woven patterns carry a higher rate than machine-drawn. Gold is billed at the day's rate — see our live rates page. Do you make hollow chains for lighter price points?+
Yes. Hollow and semi-hollow links give a heavy visual presence at a much lower gram weight, which is how retailers hit an attractive price on a broad-looking men's chain. We state hollow construction openly on the invoice.
What is the minimum wholesale chain order?+
Chain orders start at 100 grams, which is usually 4 to 10 chains depending on gauge and length. Mixed lengths and link types are welcome in one parcel.
Are chains sold by weight or by piece?+
By weight. Gold is billed at the day's rate plus a per-gram making charge that varies by link type — byzantine and handmade links cost more to make than machine-drawn cable.
How do you test chain strength?+
Every chain is pull-tested along its length, clasps and spring rings are cycled, and solder joints are inspected under magnification. Breakage at the clasp is the most common trade complaint and the easiest to prevent.
Can you supply chains with matching pendants?+
Yes — chain and pendant coordinates are available, including mangalsutra chains with matching pendants and men's chains with kada or ring coordinates.
