Caring for your gold jewellery — a generational guide
Storage, cleaning, travel and repair tips that keep gold gleaming for decades.

Daily handling
Put your jewellery on last — after perfume, lotion and hairspray have settled — and take it off first. Chlorine, salt water and household cleaners are the three things that age gold prematurely.
Wipe each piece with a soft, lint-free cloth before storing it. A minute of care after wear is worth an hour of restoration later.
Storage and travel
Store each piece individually in soft cloth pouches or a fabric-lined box. Avoid stacking, which scratches finishes and bends delicate filigree. For travel, a small zippered jewellery roll with separate compartments is ideal.
Keep stone-set pieces away from direct sunlight and humidity to preserve colour.
Cleaning and servicing
For routine cleaning, a few drops of mild soap in warm water and a soft brush is enough — followed by a thorough rinse and dry. Avoid commercial gold cleaners on stone-set or antique-finish pieces.
Every Ambaa Gold piece comes with complimentary annual polish and restringing. Bring it back to us and it will leave looking as it did on day one.
